4/15/13 New Drawings will be sealed tomorrow, ready to get the trade permits!
3/15/13 Sorry it has been a while since the last update, been busy BUILDING OUT!!! New ribbon cutting will be in June, but should have beer flowing well before then. Met with a new architect last Wed and should have the drawings for the trades done soon so the plumbing and electrical can be completed.
11/30/12 Talked with the plumber, on the same page and will be updating the quote on Monday!

11/9/12 Getting quotes for the tank installation, working toward a Christmas season opening.
9/17/12 Talked with Calvert County Department of Environmental Health today! They have a path forward for the waste, should be getting the building permits in a week or two!
6/21/12 Still waiting to hear if water usage will be an issue. Pushed ribbon cutting until Sept just to be safe.
5/17/12 gave 5 gallons of homebrew Scorpion Scuttle IPA to a potential distributor for market research! Cannot wait for feedback.
5/17/12 Discussed the plans with the state ground water geologist and it looks like no permits from the state will be required. The landlord is putting in a flow meter to determine how much water is being used by the existing tenants. If after a month or two it looks like the brewery will not break the system, we should be good to go. Anyway probably going to put off the ribbon cutting.
5/15/12 First real drama started today. There is an issue with number of tenants in the building our brewery is going into, which is making the Environmental Health assessment more difficult than expected. The septic is designed for 2 tenants and the building has 4. Keep up to date on our progress here and on our Facebook page.
5/11/12 Got my permit number and talked with Environmental Health. I will get them their payment ($30) today
5/10/12 Talked with the State Fire Marshal and was advised to move my LP tank outside.
5/9/12 Picked up the build out drawings from Gayll today. Time to apply for permits!
5/3/12 Bought a 3 compartment sink, stainless shelving and a stainless equipment rack from an auction nextdoor. Great reaction from the workers when I showed up in a wrangler to pick up such large items. It was great to be able to point at the brewery and tell them, "I am just taking them right there" one of them suggested just throwing them over the fence. Two potential new customers!
5/2/12 Shirts are in!!! $20 each
4/26/12 Had the hearing for the local liquor board today, went well, moved to accept contingent upon all the planning and zoning work being done.
4/22/12 ordered some t-shirts for sale, should arrive by May 7. Two shirts, mens official tester shirt and womans SB shirt.
4/21/12 Belgian Brown Formula accepted by TTB.
4/19/12 First formula submitted to the TTB. It is for the belgian brown due to the corriander and star anise in it.
4/18/12 talked with Planning and Zoning about what is required prior to the Liquor license, will get the paperwork in to them early next week.
4/17/12 Got the 8x10 walk in cooler and the 48" vent hood delivered today. Cool to see a semi backed up to the brewery.
4/16/12 Took the Techniques of Alcohol Management Class tonight. Should have the cert in about 2 weeks.
4/12/12 Ended with 11 Home owners and voters, only needed 10, all set.
4/11/12 Notice for Liquor board in local paper, Scheduled for LCB review on 4/26.
4/3/12 Got 14 signatures of people who live in the same precinct as the brewery today during primary elections! I will find out soon if they will accept all signatures.
3/30/12 Local Alcohol Control Board... I turned in the first page of my permit application so they can run the ad for the adjudication meeting. Now I need to find 10 people who live right around it to sign that they are ok with it.
3/27/12 Received the TTB Brewers notice acceptance today! Now on to State and County.
3/10/12 Picked up the keys to the brewery today
3/9/12 ATF TTB paperwork submitted online, awaiting bond to be received for them to start the process.
3/7/12 Mailed in the collatral bond to ATF TTB
3/2/12 Received message from realtor that the lease is signed by owners and ready to be picked up at their office. New location is 929 Skinners Turn Rd, Suite 100, Owings MD
2/23/12 Scorpion Brewing LLC is formed in Maryland.
2/14/12 Found a space working on setting up a lease, we will let you know when all is signed!
We are working on the paperwork now. Stay tuned!
Also doing site surveys to determine the best location to start brewing.
